The main means of transport of exports are roads whose share reaches 85% of the total, the second and third most important means of transport are rail and river, both with 7% for products exported, finally the transport of merchandise by air represents close to 1% of total exports.
The construction of the "Central Bioceanic Railway Corridor" is planned as an integral transportation project for the American continent. In the same manner, there are projects of urban trains planned for the cities of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. Plans are underway to continue with the construction of national airports in the different regions of the country in addition to boosting the capacity of the international airports that Bolivia currently has certified. As a last point, it is important to emphasize that the construction of more than 4,000 km of roads are planned to complete the road integration of the country, in addition to expanding and improving existing road network.
Complementing and improving Bolivia's access to the different markets of the world constitutes Bolivia as an important point of integration for the South American continent and as an international point of connection.
